Bandi Weekend House

The several-hundred-year-old building located on the western slope of Somló Hill, together with the small vineyard surrounding it, radiates a unique historical atmosphere. The property was purchased in 1946 by Endre Tornai, the founder of the Tornai Winery, marking the beginning of the family’s history on the hill. Although the winery no longer operates in this building today, the former wine press house has been carefully renovated into an elegant guesthouse while preserving its original atmosphere and character. Bandi Weekend House is a comfortable accommodation with full amenities, capable of hosting up to 12 guests, making it an ideal choice for families, groups of friends, and wine tourism enthusiasts alike.

On the upper floor, there are four tastefully furnished, air-conditioned guest rooms, each with a private bathroom and entrance hall. Two of the double rooms are family rooms equipped with sofa beds, providing comfortable accommodation for an additional 4 guests. On the ground floor, guests can use a fully equipped shared kitchen featuring a dishwasher, refrigerator, cooktop, oven, electric kettle, coffee machine, and toaster. The kitchen is supplied with all necessary cooking and dining utensils, while the wine cooler stocked with Tornai wines adds an extra touch of atmosphere to the stay. One of the special features of the guesthouse is the cozy vaulted cellar, which provides the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening wine tasting.

The upper and ground-floor terraces offer breathtaking panoramic views of Somló Hill and the Ilona Chapel. Outdoor tables, armchairs, and sun loungers provide ideal opportunities for peaceful relaxation and enjoying the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The Tornai Winery is also easily accessible on foot from the accommodation, where guests can taste the winery’s world-famous wines every day of the week while admiring the view from the wine terrace. Wine dinners and wine tasting programs are also available for groups, while on weekends the restaurant chef’s special dishes complete the gastronomic experience.
