Just about an hour from Budapest, nestled between the Mátra Mountains and the Great Hungarian Plain, lies one of the gems of the Palóc region: Gyöngyöspata. In this settlement with a thousand-year-old history, only 100 meters from the church and at the foot of the ancient castle of the Aba clan, you will find the Nandi Guesthouse. The building, once the parish residence of the Patai Archdeaconry and originally constructed in the mid-1800s, has been renovated according to modern needs while preserving its original character.

The interior layout includes three guest rooms accommodating 6+3 people, a hall suitable for community events, a kitchen, and a garden, all available for guests. Beneath the building lies the archdeaconry’s tithe cellar, whose oldest section dates back to the 14th century and is currently the oldest cellar section in the wine region. For larger groups, an additional building is available on the neighboring property, also dating back to the 19th century, featuring two guest rooms and a community hall.

On the property, in the houses, and in the cellar, visitors can see traditional tools of rural life as well as a private collection related to viticulture and winemaking. In the vegetable garden, organic farming is practiced in the traditional way, while the family continues its centuries-old grape-growing and winemaking heritage under the name Nandi Magdi Winery. Guests staying here are also offered a variety of programs to explore the area, including event organization, guided tours, wine tastings, musical evenings, folk programs, wine dinners, and more.
